Garth Brooks Joins Toby Keith, Willie Nelson for Oklahoma Tornado Relief Concert

Garth Brooks will join a small number of big-name country music stars for the benefit concert to aid the victims of last month’s devastating tornados in Oklahoma.

The relief concert has been headlined by Toby Keith and sponsored by Oklahoma country station 106.1 The Twister. Joining Brooks and Keith are Willie Nelson, Trisha Yearwood, and Ronnie Dunn of Brooks & Dunn.

The concert will take put on July 6th at Owen Field in Norman, Oklahoma. Tickets go on sale Friday, June 21st. All the proceeds go the the United Technique of Central Oklahoma’s May Tornado Relief Fund.

Toby Keith spent my youth in Moore and Garth Brooks came to be in Norman.

“I was raised in Moore, I live in Norman and i also’ve got a lot of family who had been directly affected,” he tells. “I know these folks and so they’re resilient, but we’re about to keep helping them however you can. I’m proud to have combined with many others from around here who're even as committed much like me to supporting these communities,” said Toby Keith.

Toby Keith was raised in Moore and Garth Brooks was given birth to in Norman.


“I spent my childhood years in Moore, My home is Norman and that i’ve got a great deal of family who had been directly affected,” he tells. “I'm sure these individuals and they also’re resilient, but we’re likely to keep helping them in any manner you can. I’m proud for getting combined with some from around here who definitely are even as committed at all like me to supporting these communities,” said Toby Keith.

“As we got what is this great that the tornado had hit Toby’s hometown, Miss Yearwood i told Toby we were at his service for whatever he thought i would do,” said Garth Brooks. “We are shocked about the human being spirit the tornado victims demonstrate. We are humbled because of the giving on the volunteers. It's an honor to get to join this process of recovery.”

The concert won't help the victims from the tornado in Moore, but may also benefit victims of a later tornado that hit just over and above El Reno, Oklahoma. That tornado was officially the widest one ever recorded in U.S. history.
