Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones appear like they are often headed for Splitsville.
The A-list couple, who tied the knot in high fashion with the Plaza Hotel in 2000 but have recently faced a host of stressful events into their marriage, are passing time apart, Zeta-Jones’ publicist confirmed on the Daily News.
“Catherine and Michael are taking a while apart to gauge and work their marriage,” publicist Cece Yorke said inside a statement Wednesday.
The pair has not been photographed at one another’s side since April, when they attended a gala at Manhattan’s Lincoln Center. And they’ve also made solo red carpet appearances and taken separate vacations using two children, based on PEOPLE magazine, which first reported the storyline.
In 2011, Zeta-Jones made headlines due to her grapple with Bipolar II disorder.
Then there is certainly drug-addled Cameron Douglas — the actor’s 34-year-old son from his first marriage — that's currently serving a lengthy jail sentence for narcotics possession.
